Alhusni Nour Al-Din, from Syria, has transformed his academic ambitions into a professional mission. His Master’s degree in International Relations from Belgorod State University (BelSU) became not simply an academic qualification, but a gateway to the world of diplomacy, cross-cultural dialogue and international academic cooperation.

His decision to study in Russia was a conscious one, motivated by several factors:

The language barrier was initially a significant challenge. Understanding the terminology of international relations and participating in academic discussions in Russian required considerable effort and confidence. However, with the support of his professors and through constant language practice, he successfully overcame these difficulties.

Alhusni Nour not only adapted to life in Russia but also developed a deep appreciation for Russian literature and history, which helped him better understand the country’s culture and the mentality of its people.

During his studies, he participated in international forums from Tula to Kazan, helped organize events for international students, and explored Russia through travel and communication with people from different regions.

“Here I realized that Russia’s strength lies in its diversity. It is a country where history and modernity are in constant dialogue.”

• Practise the language. Do not be afraid of making mistakes — the most important thing is to communicate.
